Frequently Asked Questions
How do I download my sewing pattern after purchase?
Once your purchase is complete, your PDF sewing pattern will be available to download instantly.
You’ll receive a download link on your order confirmation page, as well as via email. Simply click the link to access your files and save them to your device.
If you created a customer account at checkout, you can also log in anytime to re-download your pattern.
What files are included with my sewing pattern?
Each Piccolla digital sewing pattern includes a range of file formats to suit your preferred sewing method.
Depending on the design, your download may include:
- A4 / US Letter print-at-home pattern
- A0 copy shop pattern
- Projector sewing file
- Step-by-step illustrated instructions
File inclusions are always listed on the product page before purchase.
How do I print a PDF pattern at home?
Piccolla patterns include a print-at-home PDF file designed for standard A4 / US Letter paper.
To print correctly:
- Set your printer to 100% scale or Actual Size
- Do not select “Fit to page”
- Print the test square first to confirm accuracy
Once printed, trim and tape the pages together following the layout guide included in your instructions.
Where can I print my A0 / copy shop sewing pattern?
Piccolla sewing patterns include an A0 copy shop file, which allows you to print your pattern on large-format paper without taping pages together.
A0 patterns can be printed at most copy shops, print centres, or online large-format printing services. This option is ideal if you’d prefer to skip assembling a print-at-home pattern.
To make things easier, we’ve created a dedicated Copy Shop Printing Guide with recommended printers, paper specifications, and printing tips.
You can view that page here.
How much fabric do I need?
Fabric requirements vary by pattern and size.
You’ll find a full fabric consumption chart within the product listing and instruction booklet, outlining how much fabric is needed for each size and view.
We always recommend purchasing a little extra fabric to allow for shrinkage or layout adjustments.
How do I choose the correct size?
Each pattern includes a detailed size chart with body measurements to help you select the best fit.
We recommend measuring yourself (or the wearer) and comparing these measurements to the chart provided, rather than choosing your usual ready-to-wear size.
If you fall between sizes, you can grade between sizes for a more customised fit.
What sewing skill level are your patterns suitable for?
Piccolla sewing patterns are designed to be approachable and enjoyable to sew.
Each pattern includes a recommended skill level, ranging from confident beginner to intermediate, depending on the techniques involved.
Detailed instructions and illustrations are included to guide you through each step of the sewing process.
Can I get a refund on digital sewing patterns?
Due to the instant-access nature of digital downloads, we’re unable to offer refunds or exchanges once a pattern has been purchased.
If you experience any issues accessing your files, please get in touch and we’ll be happy to help.
Can I sell garments made from your patterns?
Piccolla sewing patterns are intended for personal use only.
Garments made using our patterns may not be sold, reproduced, or manufactured for commercial purposes. This includes small-scale handmade sales, market stalls, and online shops.
Patterns and instructions may not be copied, shared, or redistributed in any format.
If you’re interested in commercial licensing, please feel free to get in touch to discuss options.
